Meat Institute represents the full community of meat and poultry packers, processors, and their supply‑chain partners — companies that collectively operate more than 800 USDA‑inspected plants and produce over 95% of U.S. meat and poultry output. The association in its current form was founded in 2015 (from the merger of two predecessor trade groups).
